The site, west of Hinkley Point A, locally known as C Site Land, was formerly used as a waste transfer station. Walters UK will be reinstating the land to its former condition and upgrading the access road and footpath. The works include site clearance, fencing, drainage, soil preparation, landscaping, highway improvements and lighting. Works are due for completion by the end of March 2009. |

Walters UK have secured infrastructure works at Hinkley Point, near Highbridge in Somerset. Hinkley Point is famous for its two power stations, Hinkley Point A and Hinkley Point B. Work at Hinkley Point A power station started in 1957. After approximately 35 years of power generation, it finally closed all operations in 2000.
