Construction News has announced this year's Quality Awards. The prestigious awards were announced on 24th June at the London event hosted by Huw Edwards. Within the Projects £10 to £50m category, Walters was highly commended for Ffos Las Racecourse but ‘pipped to the post’ by the winner BAM Nuttal for Owen Street Relief Road.

As with most projects, it is relatively easy to provide a quality facility. The difficulty is providing quality within budget and programme, in a safe manner and with respect to the environment. We completed the works within budget and on programme. During the contract, as a company we achieved an outstanding one million man-hours without incurring a RIDDOR incident and we were recently awarded the ICE Wales Award for Sustainability. To be also recognised for our quality work gives us great pleasure and is a reflection on the attitude and commitment of the project team”.
