Uskmouth
Extensive earthworks involving the movement of in excess of 200,000m³ of PFA material from adjacent power station area to form network of extensive lagoons with bunds and the construction of cycle tracks and roadways up to sub base level.
Difficult working conditions due to nature of PFA material and susceptibility to changing weather conditions.
Saltmarsh
Wet field areas involving the formation of extensive areas of future bird feeding habitat.
Formation of shallow bunds and extensive network of ditches by excavating, transporting and transplanting material.
Goldcliff
Construction of 3 large shallow ponds forming 3 sides inland of existing forming sea wall.
Extensive use of clay.
Import of stone to form artificial islands within the ponds.
