Contract Details

• Approx. 120,000m³ of bulk excavation including 15,000m³ or rock and removal of coal measures
• Dredging of existing lagoon and placement of rock fill into lagoon
• Relocation of approx. 40,000m³ of refuse
• Approx. 110,000m² of geomembrane, 2 layers of geogrid, 2 layers of geotextile and a 600mm thick structural layer
• Approx. 40,000m² of basal drainage layer
• Construction of leachate pumping station
• Construction of a lower cell providing waste capacity of approx. 2 million m³
• Provision of new lagoon
• Provision of new pumps and pumping station for discharge of clean surface water using a nominated sub-contractor
• Construction of a new access road 7.5m wide and approx. 1200m long and upgrading along a further length of 600m
• New cell comprising 27,000m² of 2.5m thick HDPE lining with associated stone and geological support layers
• Work predominantly on a 1 : 2.5 side slope with tie ins to previously laid liner
• Associated works included attenuation ponds and drainage
